New to CrossFit?

You must have CrossFit experience to schedule a Drop-In or join the gym without a 2-Session orientation. Orientation is not an additional one-on-one here at CBC. We orient you during a regular class to make sure you can see what our training looks like. We make sure to get you acclimated slowly through these first 2 sessions so you understand what it will look like for you. You will be working out, but it is low impact. Come ready to do some work!

This orientation allows us to get to know you and your goals better as well as give you a real-time acclimation to the high-intensity, varied approach. Don’ worry about being overwhelmed! Our environment is low-pressure and our members are a team. They’ll be as much a part of your fitness journey as our coaches.

To purchase your 2-Session Orientation, click the button below. After you complete these sessions then you’ll be able to determine what membership level is right for you. Ready to get started?

A Bit of History: CrossFit Stands for

Cross-discipline Fitness.

Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai opened a gym in Santa Cruz, California in 2001 and posted their workouts on the Internet for their clients, and these workouts were then quickly adopted by individuals in the police, military, firefighting services. Those who used Glassman’s internet postings expressed an interest in officially incorporating his workouts into their training regimen, and the first affiliated gym (known as ‘box’), CrossFit North in Seattle, Washington, was then formed in 2002. Glassman began to develop a curriculum to train and certify coaches and gym owners using his methodology.

There are now over 12,000 CrossFit gyms or affiliates throughout the world and a global membership of between 2-5 million people.

CrossFit focuses on functional movements, movements it considers natural and essential with REAL-LIFE application. Training sessions are done with high intensity, although intensity is really scaled to each person based on their age, movement capabilities and fitness level. High intensity allows you to achieve desired result quicker and with less time in the gym: increasing weights when lifting can help build strength, while Increasing the repetitions of movements can improve stamina and endurance. We believe that physical training should be varied regularly to achieve a general level of fitness.
